The Los Angeles Kings and Edmonton Oilers each answered a goal by the other in less than 30 seconds during the first period Saturday at Staples Center.

Tyler Toffoli gave the Kings a 1-0 lead 16 seconds into the game, but Jordan Eberle tied it for the Oilers 22 seconds later.

Edmonton took a 2-1 lead on a goal by Connor McDavid at 9:53, which was matched by one by Jeff Carter for Los Angeles 27 seconds later.
