London Knights use penalty shot, short-handed goal to beat Greyhounds

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - A pair of power-play goals, a penalty shot and a short-handed goal helped the London Knights to a 6-2 win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Sunday night.

Greg McKegg scored a pair of power-play goals in the first period while Seth Griffith added a short-handed marker to build up a 3-0 Knights lead.

Ryan Rupert added a penalty-shot goal in the second period, his first of two goals on the night. Olli Maatta also scored for the Knights in the win.

Goaltender Michael Houser stopped 27 shots in the win for the Knights (32-9-1).

Nick Cousins and Brandon Alderson scored for the Greyhounds in the loss with both goals coming on the power play.

Jack Campbell stopped 15 shots in the loss through two periods before making way for Matt Murray, who stopped all four shots he faced in the third period for the Greyhounds (19-21-4).
