PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Andrei Loktionov recorded a hat trick and added an assist as the Windsor Spitfires out-gunned the Plymouth Whalers 9-4 on Friday night in the Ontario Hockey League.
Ryan Ellis also had a four-point game with two goals and two assists for the Canadian Hockey League's top-ranked team. Greg Nemisz and Eric Wellwood each tallied a goal and two assists for Windsor (56-7-0-1), Dale Mitchell and Austin Watson chipped in a goal apiece and Adam Henrique registered a pair of assists.
Andrew Engelage made 28 saves for his 45th win, tying former London Knight Steve Mason's OHL record for most wins in a single season.
For the Whalers (34-25-5-0), Joe Gaynor and Vern Cooper had a goal and an assist and Tyler J. Brown and Tyler Seguin scored one apiece.
Jamie Devane added two assists and Matt Hackett and Scott Wedgewood combined for 40 saves for Plymouth.
