Logan Shaw scores shootout winner as Cape Breton edges Chicoutimi 3-2 @NHLdotcom

CHICOUTIMI, Que. - Logan Shaw scored the shootout winner as the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles edged the Chicoutimi Sagueneens 3-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Wednesday night.

Cape Breton (4-1-0) sent the game into overtime when Denis Kindl scored with 1:47 left in the third period.

Jonathan Brunelle had the Screaming Eagles' other goal.

Gabriel Bourret and Andrew O'Brien counted for Chicoutimi (2-2-1).

Alexandre Veronneau made 27 saves for Cape Breton, while Francis Desrosiers also turned away 27 shots for the Sagueneens.

Chicoutimi opened the scoring just over 14 minutes into the game when Gabriel Bourret beat Veronneau.

Brunelle managed to pull the Screaming Eagles even early in the second period.

Early in the third O'Brien gave the Sagueneens the lead which they held until Brunelle's late heroics.
