OTTAWA (CP) - Logan Couture scored two goals and added two assists Saturday to lead the Ottawa 67's to a 5-3 win over the Oshawa Generals.
It was Ottawa's second victory over the Generals in less than 24 hours. Couture scored once and set up three others in Ottawa's 7-4 victory over the Generals on Friday night.
On Saturday, he scored both goals in the third period, including the eventual winner on the power play.
Ottawa went 3-for-9 with the man advantage, scoring twice in the final period after Generals defenceman James DeLory took seven minutes in penalties for jumping 67's forward Matthieu Methot.
Methot had laid a big hitt on Oshawa rookie Matt Seegmiller.
"Our power play has been capitalizing lately," said Couture. "We've just been clicking. We have a new system on the power play and it seems to be working."
Jamie McGinn had two goals and an assist for the 67's (30-33-0-4), who play host to the Sudbury Wolves on Sunday in a game that will decide which team finished sixth in the Eastern Conference. Ottawa trails the Wolves by a point.
Sean Ryan had the 67's other goal and Lukas Flueler made 35 saves.
Brett MacLean scored twice for Oshawa (31-28-3-5) and Brett Parnham, while short-handed, had the Generals' other goal.
Loic Lacasse finished with 26 saves.
After setting the OHL record for most goals in a season by a 16-year-old when he scored his 71st goal on Friday night, John Tavares was held to an assist.
