KINGSTON, Ont. - Home openers have not been pleasant recently for the Kingston Frontenacs.
For the third consecutive season, the Frontenacs lost their first game at home Friday night - 2-0 to the undefeated Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds before 4,200 at the K-Rock Centre.
The Frontenacs (1-2) were hampered by an ineffective power play. Kingston had seven power plays and didn't score or put much pressure on Greyhounds goalie Bryce O'Hagan.
However, disappointed coach Doug Gilmour wasn't putting the blame simply on the power play.
