Linden Vey scores twice as Medicine Hat Tigers hammer Saskatoon Blades 7-1 @NHLdotcom

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. - Linden Vey scored twice as the Medicine Hat Tigers hammered the visiting Saskatoon 7-1 in Western Hockey League action on Friday.

Brennan Bosch, Travis Dunstall and Colton Grant each scored goals for the Tigers in a 2:27 span early in the first period to chase Blade goaltender Braden Holtby from the net after seven shots.

Mark Isherwood and Vey added power-play goals in the second period, and Tyler Ennis and Vey added insurance markers in the third for Medicine Hat (30-22-4-3).

Derek Hulak scored for Saskatoon (41-14-3-1), which lost for just the fourth time on the road this season.

Medicine Hat was 3-for-9 with the man-advantage, while Saskatoon was 1-for-6.

Holtby had allowed just two goals in three games against the Tigers this season, including a 3-0 shutout win on Tuesday in Saskatoon.

At the other end, Saskatoon backup Adam Morrison saved 25 of 29 shots after replacing Holtby at the 6:37 mark of the first period.

Ryan Holfeld stopped 19 of 20 he faced in the Medicine Hat net.
