BOSTON -- Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos scored a power-play goal against the Boston Bruins for his 500th NHL career point Monday at TD Garden.

Stamkos beat Boston goaltender Tuukka Rask with a one-timer from the top of the left circle at 15:17 to give the Lightning a 4-3 lead. It was Stamkos' second goal of this season.

Stamkos has 278 goals and 500 points in 495 games. The 25-year-old is the third player to register 500 points for the Lightning, joining Martin St. Louis (953 points) and Vincent Lecavalier (874).

Only Sidney Crosby (369 games), Alex Ovechkin (373), Evgeni Malkin (413) and Jaromir Jagr (419) reached 500 NHL points in fewer games than Stamkos.
