Drouin, who replaced Cedric Paquette, hadn't played since Game 4 of the first-round series against the Detroit Red Wings, his only game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Drouin had four goals and 28 assists in 70 regular-season games. He was the third player selected at the 2013 NHL Draft.

The Lightning lead the best-of-7 series, 2-0.

Paquette did not finish the Lightning's 6-2 win in Game 2 at Bell Centre on Sunday because of an undisclosed injury. He skated on Tuesday and Wednesday morning, but said he still was not sure if he would be able to play.

For the Canadiens, center David Desharnais returned after missing Game 2 with a gastrointestinal virus. Center Brian Flynn, who replaced Desharnais on Sunday, was scratched.
