Ross Colton signed a two-year, $2.25 million contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday. It has an average annual value of $1.125 million.

The 24-year-old forward, who was a restricted free agent, avoided a salary arbitration hearing scheduled for Aug. 16.
Selected by Tampa Bay in the fourth round (No. 118) of the 2016 NHL Draft, Colton scored 12 points (nine goals, three assists) in 30 games as a rookie last season and six points (four goals, two assists) in 23 Stanley Cup Playoff games, including scoring the Cup-winning goal in Game 5 of the Final against the Montreal Canadiens.
