Lethbridge uses special teams to edge Brandon 4-3 and take 2-0 series lead @NHLdotcom

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - For the second straight night the Lethbridge Hurricanes scored all their goals on special teams, skating to a 4-3 victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings and grabbing a 2-0 series lead in their first-round, Eastern Conference quarter-final series.

Nick Hotson, Luca Sbisa and Zach Boychuk scored power play goals while Mike Wuchterl got the eventual game-winner shorthanded as Lethbridge went 3-for-8 on the power play.

Brandon got a shorthanded goal from Matt Lowry, a power play goal from Daryl Boyle and a Scott Glennie marker but couldn't find the equalizer despite a late power play opportunity and the goaltender pulled.

Juha Metsola earned his second series victory with 24 saves while Joe Caligiuri took the loss for Brandon, making 22 stops.

The series now shifts to Brandon for Game Three Tuesday night.
