Lethbridge scores three first-period goals for a 3-2 victory over Edmontons

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - The Lethbridge Hurricanes scored three first-period goals and held on for a 3-2 Western Hockey League victory over the Edmonton Oil Kings, Saturday night.

Colton Sceviour, Cam Braes and Carter Bancks all scored for Lethbridge (18-9-1-1) in the opening 20 minutes before the Oil Kings rallied with a pair of second period power play goals.

Brenden Dowd and Brett Breitkruz had the Edmonton (10-14-1-3) goals.

Juhba Metsola got the victory in net for the Hurricanes, making 24 saves, including a huge left-pad stop off Dowd with two minutes to play in the third period. Alex Archibald made 30 stops for Edmonton.
