SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Pierre-Marc Lessard broke a tie with 12:45 left in the third period and the Moncton Wildcats held on for a 3-2 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs in Wednesday's lone QMJHL game.
Matt Brown and Matt Eagles also scored for the Wildcats (29-3-2-3), who trailed 2-0 late in the second period. Moncton, ranked seventh in the Canadian Hockey League, hasn't allowed more than three goals since Nov. 22 - a span of 13 games.
Ryan Sparling and Joshua Schram replied in a losing cause for the Sea Dogs (21-17-2-2), who have dropped three in a row.
Nicola Riopel improved to 26-5-0 with a 22-save performance for the Wildcats.
Robert Mayer turned aside 28 shots for Saint John.
