Leland Irving matches league shutout record as Everett blanks Seattle 2-0 @NHLdotcom

EVERETT, Wash. - Everett Silvertips goaltender Leland Irving matched the league record for career shutouts, and the Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 2-0 Friday night in WHL action.

The shutout was the 21st of Irving's career, matching the record held by Bryan Bridges. Irving made 37 saves in the process.

Clayton Bauer and Kyle Beach scored the goals as Everett (36-25-0-3) moved within two points of Seattle for fourth place in the Western Conference.

Jacob DeSerres made 35 saves in goal for Seattle (35-21-5-2), which had a four-game winning streak snapped.
