Leblanc scores OT winner, adds 2 assists in pro debut as Bulldogs beat Americans

HAMILTON - Louis Leblanc scored the overtime winner and added two assists in his first professional game as the Hamilton Bulldogs beat the Rochester

Leblanc scored at 2:28 of overtime as Andreas Engqvist circled out from the left corner and feathered a pass through the slot to Leblanc, who deked around a defender and buried a low backhand shot past Rochester goalie David Leggio.

Engqvist also had a goal and two assists for the Bulldogs. Andrew Conboy had the other goal for Hamilton (4-2-0).

Colin Stuart and Derek Whitmore had third-period goals for Rochester(3-3-3) to send the game to overtime.

The Bulldogs opened the scoring at 4:18 of the first period on the power play on a goal by Engqvist. Leblanc was at the left circle and gave a pass to Garrett Stafford at the left point. Stafford's slapshot deflected right in front of the net by Engqvist past Leggio.

Conboy doubled Hamilton's lead at 3:46 of the second period. After taking a pass from Leblanc, Conboy flew down the right wing on a two-on-one and sending a wrist shot from the faceoff circle over Leggio's glove.

Stuart scored the Americans at 5:05 of the third period as he picked up the puck at the blue-line on the right side and cut into the slot where he wired a wrist shot over the blocker of Hamilton starting goaltender Nathan Lawson.

Rochester tied the score at 8:49 of the third period as Whitmore slid the puck past Lawson.

Lawson made 35 saves for Hamilton while Legio stopped 26 shots for Rochester.
