Justin Barron 2020 NHL Draft Draft Video Interview Prospect

Justin Barron was selected 25th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft on Tuesday. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound defenseman appeared in 34 games for the Halifax Mooseheads in 2019-20 and led all rear guards on his team with 19 points (four goals, 15 assists).

Barron, a native of Halifax, Nova Scotia, is serving as team captain for the Mooseheads this campaign. His brother, Morgan, was a sixth-round pick by the New York Rangers in 2017 (174th overall) and captained Cornell University in 2019-20.
Barron is the sixth player to be selected by the Avalanche out of the QMJHL in the first round and the fourth since the club moved to Denver. He is the third player Colorado has selected from the Mooseheads in the first round joining Nathan MacKinnon in 2013 and Alex Tanguay in 1998.
