Lazo scores twice, Pickard gets SO as Tri-City blanks Chilliwack 6-0 @NHLdotcom

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Johnny Lazo has been hit-and-miss this season, but during the month of January, he's been right on target.

Lazo had a pair of goals Saturday night and Chet Pickard posted his second shutout in as many nights as the Tri-City Americans handed the Chilliwack Bruins a 6-0 loss in Western Hockey League action.

After scoring just five points in December, Lazo put 19 on the board in January, helping the U.S. Division-leading Americans keep one step ahead of the Spokane Chiefs.

Mitch Fadden, Taylor Procyshen, Tyler Schmidt and Jordan Messier also scored for the Americans (36-14-0-3), while Pickard had 21 saves.

Lucas Gore finished with 34 saves for Chilliwack (14-33-2-4), which has lost all three games against Tri-City this season.
