Latta, Kennedy score early as Guelph hands Greyhounds first loss of season @NHLdotcom

GUELPH, Ont. - The Guelph Storm handed the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds their first loss of the season on Friday night, riding two early goals to a 2-1 victory in Ontario Hockey League action.

Michael Latta and Matt Kennedy scored in the first four minutes of the game to give Guelph (4-2-0-1) a 2-0 lead.

Vern Cooper replied late in the first for the Greyhounds (7-1-0-0) to cut the deficit to one, but Sault Ste. Marie couldn't find the net again despite firing 15 shots in the final 20 minutes.

Cody St. Jacques made 29 saves for the Storm, while Greyhounds netminder Robin Lehner stopped 28 shots.
