ERIE, Pa. - The Sarnia Sting used the immediate impact of their newest acquisitions to halt a five-game losing streak on Friday.
Ryan Spooner had two goals and an assist and J.P. Anderson stopped all 30 shots he faced to lead the Sting to a 4-0 win against the Erie Otters in Ontario Hockey League action.
Spooner was acquired from the Kingston Frontenacs while Anderson was picked up from the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors as the Sting gear up for a play off push.
Craig Hottot had a goal and an assist for Sarnia (20-14-5) while Connor Murphy added a single goal.
Ramis Sadikov stopped 26 of 30 shots as the Otters (5-31-2) dropped their fourth straight.
Sarnia went 1 for 3 on the power play as Erie failed to score on three opportunities with the man advantage.
The Sting also unveiled defenseman Adrian Robertson, who was aquired from the Windsor Spitfires and forward Tyler J. Brown, who came over with Spooner from Kingston.
Both finished plus-2 with an assist each.
