Langenbrunner, Crosby and Green named 'Three Stars' of the week

Langenbrunner led the League in goals with six, including three game winners and added one assist as New Jersey recorded three victories, giving them a record of 32-15-3, 67 points and first place in the Atlantic Division. He began the week by recording two goals in a 4-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators, Jan. 27. On Jan. 29, he notched two goals including the overtime winner and one assist in a 4-3 win over the Boston Bruins. He closed the week by recording two goals including the overtime winner as the Devils defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3, Jan. 30. Appearing in 49 games this season, Langenbrunner sits fourth on the Devils with 41 points (14-27--41) and is third with a +19 plus-minus rating.
SECOND STAR -- SIDNEY CROSBY, C, PITTSBURGH PENGUINS

Crosby led all scorers for the week with eight points (3-5--8) in three games, bringing his season point total to 68 (20-48--68) in 50 games played, second in the NHL behind teammate Evgeni Malkin (21-54--75). He began the week by recording one goal and three assists in a 6-2 victory over the New York Rangers, Jan. 28. On Jan. 30, he notched one goal and one assist in a 4-3 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils and he finished the week with one goal and one assist in a 5-4 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Jan. 31.
THIRD STAR -- MIKE GREEN, D, WASHINGTON CAPITALS

Green tied for second in the League in points for the week with seven (3-4--7) as the Capitals gained five of a possible six points, improving to a record of 32-15-4, 68 points, first in the Southeast Division. He began the week by notching one goal in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Boston Bruins, Jan. 27. On Jan. 31, he recorded one goal and one assist in a 4-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings and he closed the week by recording one goal and three assists in a 7-4 win over the Ottawa Senators, Feb. 1. For the season he has appeared in 38 games and is tied for the League lead among defensemen with 40 points (15-25--40).
