Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog has signed a contract with Swedish hockey club Djurgardens, according to a story on the team's website.

A Stockholm native, Landeskog grew up playing in the Djurgardens system and played there until the end of the 2008-09 season, when he left to join the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League.

Landeskog, the second pick of the 2011 NHL Draft, tied for the rookie scoring lead with 52 points and was second with 22 goals. He was named the winner of the Calder Trophy as NHL rookie of the year in June.
