OSHAWA, Ont. - J.P. Labardo banked home a rebound 48 seconds into overtime, lifting the Oshawa Generals to a 4-3 come-from-behind win over the Kingston Frontenacs in OHL play Monday.
Labardo was credited with his second goal of the game off a rebound of a Colin Suellentrop point shot, giving the Generals (3-4-0-1) their first home-ice win of the season.
Nicklas Jensen had tied the game for the Generals on a power play with 40 seconds left in regulation time.
Defenceman Michael Moffat opened the scoring for the Frontenacs (1-6-1-1) on a power play, sidestepping a Generals checker and beating Dan Altshuller high to the glove side.
Generals captain Boone Jenner replied with an unassisted short-handed goal in the second period.
Kingston captain Tyler J. Brown restored the one-goal lead 3:35 into the third period, putting home a rebound after being left alone to the side of the net.
Labardo lifted a backhand past Kingston goalie Igor Bobkov midway through period to tie the game again, on a power play.
Darcy Greenaway gave Kingston its third lead of the game with 7:31 remaining, taking a pass from Cody Alcock and breaking hard to the net before beating Altshuller with a clean shot.
The Generals outshot the Frontenacs 40-28.
Oshawa was 2-for-8 on the power play, Kingston 1-for-6.
