Kyle Bortis scores twice as the Hitmen beat the Hurricanes 4-2 @NHLdotcom

CALGARY - Kyle Bortis scored twice to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 4-2 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the lone Western Hockey League game Tuesday night.

Brett Sonne set up both of Bortis' goals, scored one himself and also fought with Lethbridge rookie forward Derek Ryckman to complete the Gordie Howe hat trick. With a goal and an assist, Carson McMillan continued his fine play since returning from training camp with the Minnesota Wild last week.

The Hitmen (5-2-0-0) have now won all five of their home games at the Pengrowth Saddledome this season.

Austin Fyten and Dwight Kings scored for the Hurricanes (3-2-0-0), who had won their previous eight games at the Saddledome dating back to Oct 8, 2006.

Calgary goalie Martin Jones, who signed a three-year entry level contract with the L.A. Kings earlier in the day, made 18 saves to record the victory in his first action with the Hitmen this season. Lethbridge netminder Juha Metsola stopped 32 of 36 shots fired his way at the other end.
