SPOKANE, Wash. - Kyle Beach scored his second of the game at 1:13 of overtime as the Spokane Chiefs beat the Everett Silvertips 3-2 in Western Hockey League play Monday.
Tyler Johnson had the other goal for Spokane (35-20-4), which won its fourth in a row. Mitch Wahl added three assists for the Chiefs. Shane Harper and Byron Froese replied for Everett (36-19-4).
Radko Gudas took an interference penalty with just 22 seconds left in the third to put Spokane on the man-advantage to begin the overtime.
Spokane put five shots on net in overtime, including Johnson's chance from the slot.
Thomas Heemskerk, who made 45 saves on the night, couldn't coral the loose puck before Beach stripped it and fired it in from below the goal-line at 1:13 for the winner.
Harper opened the scoring for Everett at 3:59 of the first.
Johnson tied things with his fourth goal in four games at 10:47.
The Silvertips took a 2-1 lead at 12:16 of the second period on Froese's power-play goal.
At 14:08 of the third, Beach buried Wahl's cross crease pass to tie the game.
