Kurtz scores twice in third as Sudbury rallies to beat Oshawa 5-4 @NHLdotcom

OSHAWA, Ont. - John Kurtz scored twice, including the winner with 2:44 remaining in the third period to lift the visiting Sudbury Wolves to a 5-4 victory over the Oshawa Generals Sunday night in the Ontario Hockey League.

The goal came on the power play with Oshawa's Kory Nagy sitting in the box serving a high-sticking minor.

Oshawa held a 2-1 lead after two periods, but Kurtz scored his first of the game 39 seconds into the third, while Kain Allicock and Jarad Staal - with his second of the game - also scored in the final 20 minutes.

Andrew Loverock was impressive in goal making 37 saves on 41 shots, while Sudbury (22-26-2-4) beat Oshawa's Michael Zador five times on 29 shots.

Rookies Christian Thomas and John Padulo scored two goals each for the Generals (22-25-2-4).
