Kucherov, Bishop lead Lightning past Panthers @NHLdotcom

Nikita Kucherov had a goal and an assist, and Ben Bishop made 36 saves to help the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 4-1 preseason win against the Florida Panthers at Amalie Arena on Saturday.

Steven Stamkos and J.T. Brown scored during Tampa Bay's three-goal first period. Anton Stralman scored early in the second. Stralman's goal was his third of the preseason; he had one goal in 81 games for the New York Rangers last season.

The Lightning were 5-1-0 this preseason.

Aleksander Barkov scored a power-play goal for Florida 3:21 into the game. Al Montoya stopped 24 of 28 shots for the Panthers, who finished 0-4-2.

Tampa Bay and Florida open the regular season against each other Oct. 9 at Tampa Bay.
