LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - Brandon Kozun scored twice and added an assist to lift the Calgary Hitmen to a 3-1 victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday night in the Western Hockey League.
Kozun's first goal of the game 53 seconds into the third period gave the Hitmen (7-2-0-0) a 2-0 lead. He added his eighth of the season with 5:56 remaining, less than two minutes after Adam Chorneyko had reduced the lead for the Hurricanes (5-3-0-0).
Kozun's two-goal effort puts him second in the WHL in goals behind Vancouver's Evander Kane (nine).
Keith Seabrook had the other Calgary goal, while Brett Sonne and Michael Stone added two assists apiece.
Martin Jones stopped 18 shots to earn the win for the Hitmen.
Juha Metsola made 20 saves for the Hurricanes.
