WINDSOR, Ont. - Scott Kosmachuk scored three third period goals, including the game winner, as the Guelph Storm beat the Windsor Spitfires 6-3 in Ontario Hockey Lerague action Thursday.

Francis Menard opened the scoring for Guelph (1-0-0) with just under five minutes left in the first period when he one-timed a pass from Cody McNaughton and wristed a shot past the outstretched glove hand of John Cullen in the Spitfires' net.

Zack MacQueen brought the Spitfires (0-1-0) to even terms midway through the second period when he scored from a shot in the slot to finish off a three-way passing play with Brady Vail and Adam Bateman on an odd-man rush.

The goal came on Windsor's sixth shot of the game.

After a low scoring opening two periods the offences came to life in the third.

McNaughton gave Guleph the lead early in the third before Kosmachuk added to it with his first of the period.

Michael Clarke reduced the lead to 3-2, but Kosmachuk cancelled that goal out midway through the period.

Windsor pulled another goal back through MacQueen before Guelph put it away late through Kosmachuk and Menard.

Brandon Foote made 19 saves to pick up the win for the Storm, while Cullen was outstanding while making 37 stops at the other end.
