Kootenay's special teams lead them to 4-3 victory over the Hurricanes @NHLdotcom

CRANBROOK, BC - The Kootenay Ice scored three power-play goals and added a short-handed tally in a 4-3 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes in WHL action Saturday night, giving the Ice a sweep of the home-and-home series.

Ice captain Steve DaSilva had one goal and two assists while the Hurricanes' Mitch Fadden also had a three-point game.

Kootenay's Chad Greenan opened the scoring on a power-play with a snapshot from the middle of the slot. Andrew Bailey made it 2-0 on the power-play with a wrist shot from in close that went into the top corner.

Steve DaSilva extended the lead with a short-handed breakaway goal. Michael Stickland made it 4-0 on a power-play as he was open in the slot and scored on a wrist shot.

Lethbridge (23-12-1-1) scored late in the second period as Mike Wuchterl poked in a rebound on a power-play.

The Hurricanes made it 4-2 as Colton Sceviour scored on a wraparound.

With their goalie on the bench the Hurricanes closed to within one as Mitch Fadden was left alone in front of the net and scored on a snap shot.

Both clubs don't play again until after the Christmas break. The Ice (21-12-3-0) will host Spokane on the 28th and the Hurricanes entertain Calgary on the 27th.
