Kootenay score five second-period goals to double Rebels 8-4 @NHLdotcom

RED DEER, Alta. - The Kootenay Ice struck for five second-period goals, including two short-handed, en route to an 8-4 WHL win over the Red Deer Rebels Saturday.

Dustin Sylvester scored twice for Kootenay (34-20-4-2), while single goals were added by Michael Stickland, Tylan Stephens, Kevin King, Zach Sim, Ian Barteaux and Joe Antilla.

Cody Gross, with two goals, Mike Krgovich and Juraj Valach replied for Red Deer (16-38-4-2).

Kris Lazaruk made 22 saves in the Kootenay net. Morgan Clark stopped 22 of 28 shots and David Aime blocked three of five shots for Red Deer.
