Kootenay beats Wheat Kings 2-1 as Sylvester scores game winner on power play @NHLdotcom

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Dustin Sylvester scored the game winner on a late power play as the Kootenay Ice earned a 2-1 win over the Brandon Wheat Kings in Western Hockey League action on Friday night.

Steele Boomer also scored a goal for Kootenay (6-11-0), while Todd Mathews made 29 saves for the Ice.

Aaron Lewadniuk was the lone scorer for the Wheat Kings (9-7-2), and Jacob De Serres stopped 28 shots.
