will be out for another four to five weeks.
“That day, we had hoped that the worst news would be good news,” explained Guy Carbonneau
of the original one-week prognosis. “Then the swelling went down and that changed the diagnosis. We hope to have Mike back before Christmas.”
The bruising blue-liner was injured during a fierce fight with the Bruins’ Milan Lucic
on Nov. 13 in Boston.
Others have had to step up in his absence, with Josh Gorges
leading the way as Andrei Markov
’s current defense partner. Gorges logged over 27 minutes of ice time Thursday night in Ottawa.
