Koivu scores in overtime, Wild top Blues @NHLdotcom

Mikko Koivu scored with 32 seconds remaining in overtime to give the Minnesota Wild a 5-4 preseason win against the St. Louis Blues at Xcel Energy Center.

Darcy Kuemper made 19 saves on 23 shots for Minnesota, which finished the preseason 3-2-1. Mikael Granlund, Erik Haula, Thomas Vanek and Matt Dumba scored for the Wild; Jason Pominville had three assists, and Zach Parise had two.

Ian Cole scored a power-play goal for St. Louis to tie the game 4-4 with 4:39 remaining in the third period. Jori Lehtera had two goals and an assist, Ryan Reaves scored once, and Joakim Lindstrom, Petteri Lindbohm and Jaden Schwartz each had two assists.

Brian Elliott made 28 saves facing 33 shots for the Blues, who went 2-3-2.

Minnesota starts the regular season Oct. 9 at home against the Colorado Avalanche.

St. Louis opens Oct. 9 at home against the New York Rangers.
