Knight strikes twice as London drops Kitchener 5-3; forces Game 7

KITCHENER, Ont. - Jared Knight scored twice as the London Knights forced a seventh game in their series against the Kitchener Rangers with a 5-3 win in Ontario Hockey League playoff action on Saturday night.

The decisive Game 7 will be in London on Monday night. The winners of the Western Conference semifinal will face the Windsor Spitfires.

Kalle Ekelund had the eventual winner for the Knights 5:37 into the second period. Justin Taylor and Steven Tarasuk added singles, while Daniel Erlich had three assists.

Jeff Skinner had a pair of goals and added an assist for Kitchener, while John Moore tallied and had two assists.

London's Michael Hutchinson made 40 saves for the win, while Brandon Maxwell stopped 30 shots for the Rangers.

The Knights went 1-for-4 on the power play, while Kitchener was 2-for-6 with the extra man.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Nazem Kadri had an assist for London, adding to his playoff total of nine goals and 17 assists. His 26 points is at the top of the OHL post-season scoring list.
