Dach bros

Kirby Dach didn't show a lot of exuberance immediately after his brother, Colton Dach, was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks, with whom Kirby has played for two seasons, in the second round (No. 62) of the 2021 NHL Draft on Saturday.

But the elder Dach made up for it on Colton's Zoom call with the media.
As Colton was asked about the experience of being drafted by the same team as his brother, Kirby ran into the picture, grabbing Colton by the neck and screaming, "Woo! Hawks baby!"

"It's very nice, as you can see," the 18-year-old forward said once Kirby freed him. "I think with Chicago, it's just that much easier for us to, I guess, be together and be excited. I would've been excited with any other team, but I'm extremely excited for Chicago, that they called on me."
Kirby Dach, 20, was selected No. 3 by the Blackhawks in the 2019 NHL Draft. Also a forward, he has scored 33 points (10 goals, 23 assists) in 82 games with Chicago.

It was the second straight days of brothers celebrating being drafted to the same team. After the New Jersey Devils selected defenseman Luke Hughes with the No. 4 pick on Friday, his brother, Devils forward Jack Hughes, jumped up and down while
excitedly hugging Luke.
And this is the second set of brothers on the Blackhawks. Chicago
traded for defenseman
Seth Jones on Friday and his younger brother, defenseman Caleb Jones, on July 12.
Colton Dach is already following in Kirby's footsteps in junior hockey. He has scored 49 points (22 goals, 27 assists) in 82 games with Saskatoon of the Western Hockey League. Kirby scored 129 points (38 goals, 91 assists) in 133 games with Saskatoon from 2016-19.
Now to see if the Dachs play together for the Blackhawks someday.
"If we get a chance to play together it would be a perfect fit," Colton said. "He likes to move the puck, skilled forward, and I like to get in areas where I can receive and shoot the puck. So I think we'd complement each other well."
