LOS ANGELES (AP) -The Los Angeles Kings have placed defenseman Randy Jones on injured reserve with a lingering upper-body injury.
The Kings also recalled defenseman Alec Martinez from their Manchester AHL affiliate on Wednesday.
Jones hasn't played since Dec. 15, when he ran into Edmonton's Dustin Penner. Jones apparently has dizziness and a stiff neck, but the Kings haven't said whether he sustained a concussion.
Jones has been a pleasant surprise with four goals and eight assists in 18 games with the Kings, who claimed him off waivers from Philadelphia on Oct. 29.
The 22-year-old Martinez played his first two NHL games with Los Angeles earlier this season.
The Kings open a seven-game homestand Thursday night against Detroit.
