Troy Grosenick made his first NHL start in more than six years when the Los Angeles Kings visit the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday (NBCSN, PRIME, FS-SD, FS-W, NHL.TV).

The 31-year-old goalie had not played an NHL game since Nov. 18, 2014, when he allowed three goals on 13 shots for the San Jose Sharks in a 4-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres.
Grosenick's only other NHL appearance came two days earlier when he made 45 saves in a 2-0 win against the Carolina Hurricanes in his NHL debut.
Grosenick was expected to back up Cal Petersen on Wednesday, but Petersen was placed in NHL COVID-19 protocol prior to the game.
Matt Villalta
was recalled from Ontario of the American Hockey League to be the backup.
The Kings are also without goalie Jonathan Quick, who missed a second game after sustaining an upper-body injury in a 4-3 overtime win against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.
Los Angeles (10-8-6) had lost five of its past six games (1-2-3), including a 6-5 overtime loss to the Ducks on Monday.
Grosenick was 0-1-1 with a 4.92 goals-against average and an .848 save percentage in two games with Ontario this season after he was 20-9-3 with a 2.29 GAA and .920 save percentage with Milwaukee last season. He is 114-70-26 with a 2.53 goals-against average and .913 save percentage in 221 AHL games since the 2014-15 season.
