EDMONTON - Tristan King scored the deciding goal in the fourth round of the shootout as the Medicine Hat Tigers defeated the Edmonton Oil Kings 3-2 on Friday night in the Western Hockey League.
It was the second time in as many games that Medicine Hat beat the Oil Kings in a shootout. The Tigers downed Edmonton 4-3 in Medicine Hat on Wednesday night.
King beat Oil Kings goaltender Torrie Jung through the five-hole to clinch the win for the Tigers (12-7-2-2).
Tyler Ennis scored a power-play goal late in the third period to send the game to extra time, while Brennan Bosch opened the scoring in the first for Medicine Hat.
T.J. Foster and Brendan Dowd tallied for the Oil Kings (9-12-1-3).
Dowd and Ennis both scored in the second round of the shootout.
Tyler Bunz made 28 saves for the Tigers, while Jung stopped 29 shots.
