CRANBROOK, B.C. - Kevin King had a goal and two assists as the Kootenay Ice posted a decisive 7-1 upset victory over the Tri-City Americans in Western Hockey League action Saturday night.
Dominik Pacovksy, Cason Machacek, Joey Leach, Brendan Hurley, Steele Boomer and Max Reinhart also scored for Kootenay (9-12-1), which climbed out of last place in the Central Division with the win.
Brett Plouffe had the lone goal for the Americans (16-5-0), who still lead the U.S. Division.
Todd Mathews made 30 saves for the Ice, while Tri-City started Brett Martyniuk was pulled in favour of Drew Owsley after allowing three goals on 14 shots.
