Kilrea earns win in final regular-season game as 67's down Frotenacs 5-3 @NHLdotcom

OTTAWA - Brian Kilrea's final regular-season game behind the Ottawa 67's bench resulted in a fitting and familiar outcome Sunday.

The winningest coach in Canadian junior hockey history added one final victory to his record 1,193-win total after the 67's defeated the Kingston Frontenacs 5-3 at the Civic Centre in Ontario Hockey League action.

Logan Couture led the way with three goals for Ottawa (40-21-5-2). Cody Lindsay and Ryan Martindale had the others.

It marked the 12th time in Kilrea's 32-season tenure in Ottawa that he has reached the 40-win plateau.

But Kilrea's days behind Ottawa's bench aren't done yet. The 67's face the Niagara IceDogs in the opening round of the playoffs.

Nathan Moon had two goals for Kingston (18-40-6-4). Andris Dzerins had the other.
