Killeen earns first shutout of season as Battalion blank Bulls 3-0 @NHL

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Patrick Killeen stopped 26 shots as the Brampton Battalion blanked the Belleville Bulls 3-0 in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.

Sean Jones scored twice for Brampton (11-10-4), and Ian Watters also tallied.

Philipp Grubauer made 35 saves for Belleville (9-14-4).

It was Killeen's first shutout of the season and 50th victory of his OHL career.

After the first period failed to yield any offence, Sean Jones opened the scoring 4:07 into the second period, beating Philipp Grubauer with a backhander from the high slot.

Belleville applied lots of pressure in the second, putting 15 shots on Killeen but the Battalion netminder was up to the task, preserving his clean sheet.

Brampton took a 2-0 lead 13:17 into the third period when Ian Watters beat Grubauer with a wrist shot down low. Jones rounded out the scoring at 19:04 with an empty-netter. The goal was Jones' team-leading 16th of the season.
