Kichton scores in shootout to lift the Chiefs over the Ice 3-2 @NHL

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Brenden Kichton scored the winner in a shootout as the Spokane Chiefs edged the Kootenay Ice 3-2 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Liam Stewart and Todd Fiddler scored for the Chiefs (17-11-5) in regulation time.

Dylen McKinlay and Joey Leach responded for the Ice (22-11-4).

Mac Engel picked up the win, and second star of the game, by making 38 saves.

Mackenzie Skapski stopped 38 shots in defeat, but picked up first star of the game.

Spokane went 1-for-3 on the power play while Kootenay failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.
