WINDSOR, Ont. - Alexander Khoklachev scored the overtime winner as the Windsor Spitfires defeated the Ottawa 67's 4-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Sunday afternoon.
Kerby Rychel also notched his sixth goal of the season for Windsor (3-3-0) while team captain Adrian Robertson and Nick Czinder both chipped in with their first goals of the season.
The 67's (3-1-1) jumped out to a 3-0 lead on goals by Codi Ceci, Sean Monahan and Ryan Van Stralen in the first period.
Special teams went a long way in deciding the outcome of the game, with five of the seven goals scored with the man advantage.
Only Czinder's goal came with the teams at even strength.
The Spitfires went two for 12 on the power play while the 67's cashed in on three of eight opportunities with the man advantage.
Khokhlachev was sent in on a breakaway with a pass by rookie Ben Johnson. He deked Ottawa goalie Petr Mrazek before lofting a backhander.
Khokhlachev was the second round draft choice of the Boston Bruins in the 2011 NHL draft.
Campbell, the first round draft choice of the Dallas Stars in 2010, made 33 saves while picking up his third win in three games this season, while Mrazek also made 33 stops at the other end.
