OSHAWA, Ont. - Kevin Bailie made 41 saves Sunday to lead the Oshawa Generals to a 4-1 victory over the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League.
The fourth-year Oshawa netminder made 14 saves in the first, another 15 in the second and 12 in the third.
Some of his best work came late in the second as the Knights enjoyed a steady stream of power-play opportunities.
Boone Jenner, Lucas Lessio, Matt Petgrave and Scott Sabourin scored for Oshawa (29-18-6).
Jenner opened the scoring in the first, converting on a short-handed 2-on-1 with Nicklas Jensen. Lessio's goal came 1:07 into the second as he cashed in a rebound off a Christian Thomas shot, while Petgrave scored late in the period on a similar play, beating London's Michael Houser after off a Scott Laughton rebound.
Sabourin's goal into an empty net while shorthanded came with 19.7 second remaining in the third.
Austin Watson scored on a second-period power play for London (45-16-1), beating Bailie off the post and in glove side. London finished the night 1-for-8 on the power play, while Oshawa was held scoreless in four chances.
Houser finished the night with 22 saves.
With the win, Oshawa maintains a hold on eighth in the Eastern Conference, while London, now having lost two straight, continues to lead the way in the Western Conference.
