EVERETT, Wash. - Kenton Dulle scored the only goal in the shootout, and the Kamloops Blazers defeated the Everett Silvertips 5-4 Sunday night in WHL action.
Kamloops trailed 4-2 going into the third period, but goals by C.J. Stretch - his second of the game - and Giffen Nyren tied it up, forcing overtime and eventually the shootout.
Seth Compton also scored and Justin Leclerc made 28 saves in goal for Kamloops (22-22-1-4), which moved a point ahead of Everett for fifth place in the Western Conference.
Tyler Maxwell scored twice, Graham Potuer and Markus McCrea also scored, and Kent Simpson stopped 33 shots in goal for Everett (21-18-5-1), which lost in a shootout for the first time this season.
The Silvertips were 4-0 in shootout previously.
