Kent Simpson makes 25 saves as Everett Silvertips blank Seattle Thunderbirds 4-0 @NHLdotcom

EVERETT, Wash. - Kent Simpson made 25 saves to record his first shutout of the season as the Everett Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 4-0 Friday night in Western Hockey League action.

Josh Birkholz and Reid Petryk each had a goal and an assist as Everett was in control throughout. Josh Winquist and Ryan Murray scored the other goals for the Silvertips.

With the victory, Everett (18-37-9) moved on point ahead of Seattle (21-40-2) for the eighth and final playoff position in the Western Conference. Seattle has played one fewer game.

Calvin Pickard finished with 26 saves in goal for the Thunderbirds.
