"I am honoured to join the exceptional group of Medical Trainers and Equipment Managers that have already been inducted into the PHATS/SPHEM Hall of Fame," said Ken. "Many of these individuals were the forefathers of our association and I am flattered to be included."

Holding a Master of Arts Degree specializing in Athletic Training and Conditioning from the University of Alberta, Lowe has an extensive background in sports medicine. He spent 29 years with the Edmonton Oilers, 21 of which he was the Head Athletic Therapist for the Oilers. He joined the organization in 1989 and went on to win a Stanley Cup championship with the team in 1990, his rookie season. Prior to joining the Oilers training staff, Lowe was the Head Athletic Therapist of the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL) and was a member of Grey Cup championship teams in both 1982 and 1987.
Besides his role with the Oilers, Lowe has represented Canada on the international stage five times. He was Canada's athletic therapist for the men's hockey team at both the 2002 (gold medal) and 2006 (7th place) Winter Olympics, the 2004 World Cup of Hockey (gold medal), 1996 World Cup of Hockey (2nd place) and the gold medal-winning team at the 1994 World Championship in Milan, Italy.
In honour of Ken's induction, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, on behalf of the Edmonton Oilers, will be making a donation to the Hockey Hall of Fame. This donation will help the Hall of Fame to continue honouring and memorializing individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the game of hockey.
