Kellan Tochkin scores shootout winner as Silvertips beat Americans @NHLdotcom

EVERETT, Wash. - Daniel Bartek scored the tying goal late in regulation, then Kellan Tochkin scored the only goal during the shootout as the Everett Silvertips defeated the Tri-City Americans 7-6 Tuesday night in Western Hockey League action.

Tochkin, Ryan White, Byron Froese, Shane Harper and Graham Potuer also scored for Everett (7-6-1-0). Kent Simpson earned the win in relief for the Silvertips, stopping 25 of 28 shots. Starter Shayne Barrie stopped 7 of 10 before being yanked after one period.

Tyler Schmidt, Adam Hughesman, Jason Reese, Johnny Lazo, Taylor Procyshen and Brendan Shinnimin scored for Tri-City (10-3-0-1), which had a five-game winning streak snapped. Chet Pickard made 26 saves in goal for the Americans.
