Ralph Macchio

Actor Ralph Macchio is a diehard fan of the New York Islanders, and they're honoring his dedication with a Karate Kid bobblehead.

Macchio the doll is clad in a full Islanders uniform and skates, with a bobblehead and bobbling left leg that hangs in the air, resembling the crane kick stance he made famous as the protagonist Daniel LaRusso in the 1984 movie "The Karate Kid." The first 10,000 fans in attendance for the Islanders game at Barclays Center against the Buffalo Sabres on Dec. 23 will get the giveaway.
A Huntington, N.Y. native who also notably played Bill Gambini in "My Cousin Vinny," Macchio is one of the Islanders' most famous fans, and he represented the organization during the 1990s with his own hockey card.
Macchio is one of five Islanders bobblehead giveaways this season. Forwards Andrew Ladd, Brock Nelson, Cal Clutterbuck and team mascot Sparky the Dragon, will all also have their likenesses distributed in bobblehead form.
