Kane keeps point streak going with game-winner as Vancouver edges Kelowna 5-3 @NHL

VANCOUVER, B.C. - Evander Kane's team-leading 14th goal of the season proved to be the game-winner as the Vancouver Giants narrowly beat out the Kelowna Rockets 5-3 in Western Hockey League action Friday night.

Kane has scored at least a point in each of Vancouver's 20 games this season. The Giants (16-1-0-3), built a 4-0 lead on goals from Kane, Brent Regner, James Wright and Mikhail Fisenko. Garry Nunn scored an empty-netter and added two assists.

The Rockets (12-10-0-0) made it close with three third-period goals. Tyler Myers, Jamie Benn and Dylan Hood scored within a nine-minute span to make it 4-3. Myers assisted on Benn's and Hood's goals.

Tyson Sexsmith made 17 saves for Vancouver, while Kelowna netminder Adam Brown stopped 27 shots.
